A New Look for Downtown Los Angeles
A major project that is expected to transform Downtown Los Angeles was announced on May 3. The $1 billion project will be built on 30 acres of land surrounding Staples Center, the new 20,000 seat state-of-the-art arena. The development will include expansion of the Convention Center, a headquarters hotel for the Convention Center of 1200-rooms, an entertainment-retail district, office facilities, and residential buildings. The project will be undertaken by the L.A. Arena Company LLC, owners of Staples Center. L.A. Arena Co. is comprised of the Anshutz Corporation and Twentieth Century Fox. ERA has assisted the owner in planning this project focusing on the entertainment retail district and key anchor components.
