an Francisco Mayor Newsom Appoints Linda Cheu as New Member to Redevelopment Agency



San Francisco, CA-Mayor Gavin Newsom has announced his appointment of ERA Principal Linda A. Cheu to serve on the city’s Redevelopment Agency. The Redevelopment Agency of San Francisco was established for the purpose of improving the environment of the City and creating better urban living conditions through the removal of blight. It works closely with the Board of Supervisors in creating plans for better and more stable housing. The Agency also provides local funding for the development of affordable housing throughout the city.

Linda works with clients in the areas of affordable housing, redevelopment, transit oriented development, economic impact, and economic development strategies. Prior to joining ERA, Linda worked with the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Chinese Community Housing Corporation and Chinatown Resource Center, the Haas Center for Public Service and the American Red Cross, National Headquarters, Washington D.C.

Ms. Cheu is highly involved in the Chinese American community in San Francisco where she has served as President, California Dragon Boat Association (CDBA); Housing Subcommittee Chair, San Francisco’s Citizen’s Advisory Committee on Community Development; Board Member, Chinese Historical Society of America; and Former Vice President, Chinese Culture Foundation.

Ms. Cheu received her Masters in Public Policy with a concentration in housing, urban development, and real estate from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government and her B.A. in American Studies with Honors in Education from Stanford University.
